Tony & Carmine's Story: From Hospital to Home

"My brother resides here at Mens Sana. He's been here about 13 years—he came from CAMH and he's done very well here. When people ask him where he is now, he says to them that he's no longer in a hospital and he's living in a house. KS's Transformation: From Crisis to Confidence

The Challenge

KS, a member from one of our DD units, faced a challenging time—spending over five weeks in and out of the hospital due to severe anxiety and self-harm thoughts.

The Support

With consistent structure, compassionate support, and collaboration with his care team, KS slowly began to regain control.

"He used to call me in the evenings just for reassurance. Now he calls to say he's feeling great!"

The Transformation

Today, KS is off his anxiety medication, using effective coping strategies, and is thriving—back in college studying landscaping, volunteering, playing sports, and reconnecting with family.

KS's story is a reminder that with the right support system,
transformation is not only possible—it's powerful.
